I hope Felix is going to be okay. I'll be keeping him in my thoughts. Keep us updated on him!

I hope he will be ok. Sounds like you have some rough cats in your neighborhood. Anyone getting the developed theme here?
Maybe you should consider keeping your kitties indoors.

It might be the only solution to your problems.

I took him to the vet around 7:00am. They took one fast look and said that he had to be neutered. I won't know anything about his condition or nothing...he has to stay overnight since they wanted to wait and make sure he has had no food, and because Grandma works again today so I have no car. I'm worried that he will die from anesthesia, the surgery, have complications, or have something else that they didnt notice...I guess all I can do is miss him terribly and worry to death. That and hope and pray for the best.

I hope he will be ok too....I want to keep them indoors, but I have 10 cats and this house doesnt have room. I am in the process of giving them away...the few I'm keeping cant stay inside either because my grandma has a cat inside who is the evil siamese I've mentioned here before....and anytime I bring one in it gets hurt. I sometimes sneak them to my room (that's how I got photo) but they don't really like it too much...I guess they can smell her. So far Felix is the only one with a problem. The vet said it was most likely from a fight, BUT could've been from anything geting snagged on his ball sack since the covering is thin.

I am so glad your kitty is going to be all right. Male cats hardly ever have a rough time after a neuter. He is going to be so much happier now that he is fixed!

YEAH!!!! He lived and seems ok..I have him inside with me and he is soooo jealous of my computer...lol he keeps laying on my mouse and keyboard. Um..I'm still worried though since I have to let him outside tommorow (grandma wants me to go to visit family in another county) and I can't leave him alone in my room and don't want to leave him in a cage all day. He's acting fine though, playfull and everytime I leave my room he wants to follow and meows untill I return then lays down and sleeps. One thing though...can u guys do me a favor? I know what to look for on a female cat (spayed one of my cats) to make sure it's not infected and stuff..but I've never had to with a male(he's my first cat neutered) . Do you know anywebsites with a photo of what it looks like after neutering so I can know when it's healed or infected? Oh and will he grow fur back there over the wound??? Oh and how do I keep him from licking? Or does that not matter??? What changes can I expect in him? (My female got all pissed at me and still isn't as friendly as she was before I got her spayed).
Thanks everyone for your help and support.

The males generally heal faster after a neuter then when a female gets spayed, the neutering is not as much of a major surgery as spaying is.
For the first 24 hours it might seem a bit swollen around the stitched up area, that can be normal. Just keep him occupied, and keep him from licking it too much, cause some cats will lick it so much to irritation or pull the stitches out.
Keep your eye out for a lot of pussing, being swollen for too long, bleeding or lots of prolonged redness of the area, foul odor.

About his behavoir after all this, who knows, most do just fine and return completely to normal (or how they were before.) They aren't suppose to become lazy or excessively fat, that's up to how busy the owner keeps the animal, just like an unaltered male.

Thanks angelzOO......I still wish I could find a picture just because I am paranoid and worry that they may have forgot something. right now it is swollen I guess..and has bright yellow stuff (grandma said probably antibiotics/antiseptic). He's been sleeping all day now and FINALLY drank water (alot!!) and I AM SOO PROUD: he used the litter box..that was his first time...all I did was show it to him when I took him out of the cage and a few hours later he went. Oh his anus looks kinda red and swollen is that normal too? He was in a cage lastnight and today he's slept and I'm keeping him inside tonight. Will it be ok to let him back outside tommorow or do I need to wait longer??? I don't want to let him out too soon or make him stay inside longer than I have too... Oh and if he never does #2 should I worry? He's eaten and only done #1 and that's the only time and only thing he's done.....

I don't think I have ever seen a picture of this, least not afterwards, I've seen some of during the process, but it's not something I have bookmarked.
Yes the bright yellow stuff is normal, don't worry about that, it will go away on it's own as well.
Sleeping is normal, on some cats the anesthic can keep hold of them for a loooong time. Others snap right out of it.
Drinking water is ok, he's been through a big ordeal. So long as say a week from now he's still not drinking excessive amounts.

I'm not sure why his anus would look like that, maybe they ran some test or took his temperature, or perhaps something else. Personally I would wait at least another day or two before letting him back outside. If he doesn't do #2 by tomorrow night, you might want to start to worry, course that's including that he has been eating and drinking well. I know some cats and dogs will go for 3 days every now and then, even on a normal basis with out going #2. Keep your eye on him. If he doesn't go tonight, he'll probably go after breakfast tomorrow morning.

I know what u mean about the pics...that's y I was wondering if anyone might know where to look..lol NVM.So are you saying I can let him out sunday? or wait untill monday? Sunday I may be going to a birthday party for my uncle...i cant leave him alone all day, but if u think he doesnt need to go out yet, then I'll try to just stay home and tell them I'm watching Felix. If he got tests/temperature, will his anus look normal by tomorrow unless it's something else? Thanks.

P.S...I just thought of something...he looks alittle shaved. maybe the anus looks like that because of irritation or because there is less hair....

Well you know I personally vote to keep him inside perminately

Otherwise keep him in as long as you can. I think even one day or 2 days right aftewards might be a little too risky, specially if there are other agressive cats out there right now!

I really don't know what to tell you about his anus they are all possiblities, but I'm not a vet, so I'm not sure.

If you are worried about himself licking too much, there are things called E-Collars, you can either buy from a petstore, or from your vet, it's a big collar that goes around their neck that looks like a cone, and prevents them from being able to lick where the stitches are.

I wish SOOOOOOO much I could keep him inside..but this isn't my house. Luckily for us I'm moving soon
I know about the collars, but he'd mostlikely rip it off or something..plus I keep him in the cage at night(so I sleep without him getting injured)...hopefully he can't reach to lick in that little cage. Thanks for all your help. If something odd happens I'll post it here.

Heya, if you have ten cats, then it would be best if you talk to your closest vet to work out a plan for any emergencies you have, next time kitty may not be so lucky and have the time on his hands, which ever kitty it may be. So, maybe you could have an emergency phone number of a vet that would be prepared to do a house call in such circumstances, or maybe you could get a taxi and arrange to meet the vet at his clinic even if it is after hours. You really do need a plan for the future.

Also, have all your cats desexed! that would save everyone alot of problems.

Good luck

I'm very glad to hear your cat is going to be okay. I agree too, your animals should be spayed and neutered. I volunteer at our local shelter and it's so sad how many animals are put to sleep because of pet overpopulation and no homes for all of them. Spaying and neutering also make for a happier pet as they won't have the urge to mate all the time, and also a healthier pet because of testicular cancer, mammarian cancer and ovarian cancer.
