My cat Samson has been on Hills a/d since Sept. Took him to the vet for his follow up and the vet found his liver enzymes were high. She said that the a/d was probably not the best for him because it's high in protein and that causes the liver to work harder. However, she didn't recommend any other food for him as she's happy that he is at least eating.

(Also I do mix 1/3 Natural Balance, Venison to 2/3 a/d and Samson seems to like it but he's not eating as much as I would like him too.)

Also this kitty is *ridiculously* and I mean *RIDICULOUSLY* finicky. He doesn't go for the Friskies or other grocery store brands, you know, the stinky smelling stuff that most cats would go for *at all*. But did eat some Friskies when he was at the vet
The vet gave me a can to take home. I gleefully offered him some and nope, would not touch it

Speaking of finicky, Samson will not eat unless I am there by his side petting and encouraging him to eat. If I leave, he will stop eating and come and get me. Is that crazy or what??? I need to break him of this habit.

Anyhow, I was thinking of picking up some Natural Balance, dry because he used to like it a lot and seemed to be doing well on it. I would try this as a supplement to the a/d. But I was wondering if anyone might have any recommendations for me, for a good alternative for either canned or dry that would be good for the liver.
