I have seen "We Were Soldiers" a few times and I have read the book that the movie is based on "We Were Soldiers Once..... And Young" It was written by Lt.Gen. Hal Moore and Photo Journalist Joe Galloway. The story takes place at the start of the Vietnam War, the IA Drang Valley was the first time American and North Vietnam Army ever met on the battlefield. Hal Moore had approximately 450 men with him against approximately 2000 NVA. This based on actual events and when the movie was shown veterans from that battle said that it was very true to the events that actualy happened. I really recommend this movie to everyone, I don't think it glorifies war in anyway. The movie comes back to the wifes and family of the soldiers in battle to show what they faced back home.If you would like some more info about this battle check out this website, lots of information here http://www.lzxray.com/ oh BTW, Make sure to have some kleenex ready!!
