The good news!

All of Mia's Kittens have gone to their forever homes.

The sad news...

All of Mia's Kittens have gone to their forever homes...

I have been bawling all day. Not just mourning the loss of these little babies, but so worried that I won't find momma a loving home as well.

Here is a list of who when where.

Emma (white female) Is staying with us and such a little pistol! She is mourning the loss of her siblings as well. It's sad to see her and momma so down.

Zellie (white female) Went to live with a SUPER sweet man I met at PetCo. He was buy good quality food and I struck up a conversation. She has been with him for a week now and he is SO super thrilled. She has a new brother names Zohar. They have a blog with pics of the kitties here: http://captainwhenever.livejournal.com/2008/11/

Wilma (orange female : the runt) Found a wonderful home with a co-worker of mine, she now has 3 ferrets as brothers and sisters and even uses their litterbox in their cage. lol I think that will stop once she gets bigger. (they use hers too though! Tit for a tat!)

(both wilma and zellie were named by their new owners while I still had them as kittens, so they kept their names)

Tom (orange male) Found a wonderful home with a family that has two kitties already and a young daughter. The mom fell in love with Tom and had to have him.

Clark (orange/white male) Went to the same home as Tom!
So they are still together!
The family came over for one kitty, but the daughter fell in love with Clark an mom fell in love with Tom (who was the most handsome kitten I have ever seen. Going to be a BIG orange cat!) So Dad said "How much for two?" So exciting!

Lewis (orange/white male) Went home with the vet tech who took care of him while he was being neutered. He was a young boy, 16, and has wanted a cat for YEARS. The family had had one, but lost him due to illness. I talked to him mom over the phone, who had gotten the okay from Dad. SO everyone was on board and Lewis' new name is Hobbs!

Last but not least, kitty number 7:

Stewie (orange/white male) went home today.
So happy yet so sad. Stewie was one of my faves. So sweet and tender. He went to a couple, he works for Homeland Security. The kittens and momma had been on the news here, they were all born during the hurricane, by candlelight on my bed. He had seen the news cast and asked about adopting when they were old enough. He had an orange boy while he was growing up and missed having a cat terribly. He didn't want an orange boy, as he didn't want to replace his RB kitty. But love the idea of an orange/white boy. They are keeping the name Stewie! (it really fits him)

SO! There ya have it!

I miss all my babies! It's been 11ish weeks of fun, love, torture, messes and tears. I wish I still had them all, but am SO grateful I found such good homes for everyone.

Ooh! And everyone was spayed/neutered and micro chipped before going to new homes, and everyone payed either 75 or 125 for each kitten, (the cost of spay and neuter) So they are serious homes that really want to take care of the babies.

Here's a pic of everyone at 8 weeks.
Emma, the one we are keeping, is the one looking at the camera.

Yes, that is a turd. No idea where it came from, it was petrified at the time I noticed it...evidently it was resurrected from somewhere dark to become a cat toy...for a very brief moment. LOL Unfortunately, the picture was already taken, and I will be forever known as the woman with a petrified cat turd on her living room floor...

Now you have to change your location to "In petrified cat turd land."

Congratulations on sucessful placements
I loved the blog on Zellie- and the update pic of her snuggling with her big-bro Zohar was adorable
Considering the earlier post of his, with Zohar growling & staking his turf- it's a real encouragement to anyone bringing in a new cat

I'm sending comfort prayers & vibes out to Mia and Emma

That is SO sweet of you!!

The prayers are wonderfuly appriciated.

Emma is staying with us though.
No prayers needed, except for maybe that our Alpha Polly will stop hissing and growling at her someday.

Momma (Mia) on the other hand, I think I have a grand idea for her.

She really misses the outside. I believe she is really depressed cooped up in here. She loves it when I take her out on her leash. SO, I am getting her fixed on Thursday and looking to place her on a loving farm here in Texas. She is an EXCELLENT mouser and snaker...lol My husband witnessed this when he saw her out as a stray. I think she will be a lot happier. What do you guys think???

I'm glad you managed to find good homes for the kittens
They're going to make their new owners extremely happy. 11ish weeks sounds awfully young to undergo speuter, isn't it dangerous to put them through surgery at such a young age? By the way, I couldn't suppress a snort of laughter at the "petrified cat turd" comment
