Today's question pertains to holiday music.

Do you have a favorite holiday song?

I am very much a traditionalist when it comes to holiday music, I like the older carols sang by a choir.
Both Silent Night, and O Holy Night are my favorites.
However I have to admit that by the second week of the holiday season I am sick of the music I tune it out.

I love to hear "Carol Of The Bells" done by a handbell choir, that's probably my favorite Christmas carol. Christmas isn't Christmas without hearing Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite." I have several versions of it, and really never tire of listening to it. When the family opens Christmas presents on Christmas Eve, I always put my Mannheim Steamroller Christmas CDs on the player.

I love Faith Hill's version of "Oh Holy Night" - it's gorgeous.

I also love "O Beautiful Star of Bethelham" - The Judds and I also like Carol of the Bells.

Other than those I have a ton of pieces that I love from when I used to sing competitively- our choirs used to get some of the most pretty holiday music!

I don`t really have a favourite but I love all the old carols

It get`s really annoying to hear all the cheesy christmas pop songs in the shops
Although I like that song by the Pogues and Kirsty McColl

For me, it's all the old traditional carols, though I think my favourite is "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing". Many others give it a good run for its money, though!

I, too, hate the cheesy pop stuff, and I wish we could wait until maybe mid-December before being bombarded with any Christmas carols, but then continue to enjoy them for a bit after Christmas Day, too. I don't like the lovely old carols being hijacked by the commercialism of shopping, and then abandoned as soon as the wrapping is off the presents. But then I guess I'm just old fashioned about such things.

Okay, I am not sure "The Dreidle Song" is anybody's favorite and it is not mine. My favorite is "White Christmas," written by that nice Jewish boy, Irving Berlin.

My mother's was "Jolly Old St. Nicholas."

I love Christmas music. I already have my Sirius radio tuned to the two Christmas channels that are in effect right now.

But, a favorite? That would be hard.

I actually prefer the old standards, but some of the fun ones once in a while. The country song, "Christmas Carol" ALWAYS makes me cry, but I have to admit "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" is fun once in a while. And I admit, I have the doggy and kitty CD just to drive the kitties crazy!
