I got into a car accident shortly after Eek was ran over which is why I didn't come back to give you all updates!

For those of you who dont know what Im talking about, heres the post
http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=181009

So here are the updates!

Eek has made it through, the countdown is on for his surgery but more info will be kept up in the heath forum!

My car accident was bad, I went out at 1am in the middle of a snow storm to get Eek his grool because somehow or another we ran out. They had made a new road and I took it, I had been on it before, but never when it was snowing and earlier that day it had also rained! So I made it to the store fine, was there for a while and got all I needed and left. I took the same road back, when I went to switch lanes so I could turn left up the road a little ways my van skidded out of control and headed towards the other side of the road and straight to the green light post, I did cookies all the way across the road, then hit the pole, jumped the curb and landed in a field. My head slammed against the stearing wheel and just as my head was being thrown back my airbag deployed and sent me back! At this point I paniced, the van was already stopped but for some reason my mind thought that since the airbag was in my way to climb across the passenger seat and escape from the vehicle. Bad move. When my body weight hit the seat the passenger airbag went off, this airbag was quite a bit larger than the one in the drivers seat! I was on my hands and knees trying to get out so my whole left side got burned from the gunpowder in the airbag and sudden blast plus I got bruised up pretty well! No one would stop to help me and I called like ten people till one finally came to help me!

So Im sorry ya'll for what I've missed, but I did want to explain what did happen, and why messages were not replied! Thanks all!

So glad you both are doing ok

are you thinking about seeking damages from the car maker? seems like a very bad product in that van, no one should get burned from an airbag...then again you have alot to deal with right now already

Actually when an airbag goes off its like a gunshot! So it often does burn you! This is the second car accident in my life where the airbags hurt me more than anything else but something did go wrong because they should have gone off at the same time! They want some 1500 to fix my dash and to have the airbags removed out of the new dash is going to cost me even more but that is the last time an airbag gets the better of me!

Thank you! I was absolutly certain I was going to die when I went straight for the light post! I was in awful shock for a while, it even took me a while to call for help because I hadn't fully grasped what had just happened!

The worst part with Eek is the vet says by the angle he was hit they were probably aiming for him! I would very strongly like to believe that they were swerving to avoid him!

How scary! I'm glad that you're healing up, and so is Eek. Airbags can really do some damage. I was lucky that, when mine deployed earlier this year, all I got was a broken nail. Lots of good energy coming to you and Eek!

NO ONE WOULD STOP TO HELP YOU?

You had to call TEN PEOPLE before someone CAME to help you?

Good lord, what's wrong with people where you live? All I did was trip on a curb and I was surrounded with a dozen people all scrabbling for their cellphones to call an ambulance for me! (I actually had to talk them out of it!)

Sheesh. It's an awful, shaky feeling, having an accident, and you were geniunely injured besides. I'm really sorry nobody was there for you, hon.

I was wondering where you had disappeared to. What a scary accident!!
I know the feeling about no one stopping to help. When I blew a tire on my trailer (with 6 yards of bark mulch)this summer no one stopped and asked if I needed assistance either.

I hope you are feeling better soon and Eek makes a good recovery.

I hope you are feeling better soon!

In 1987-88, I tripped and fell at the local college. The punk 10 feet away from me just looked at me on the ground and just kept on walking. A guy several yards away ran to help me up. Some people just don't have the sense God gave an ant.

Oh my Lord! I'm glad you're alright...I'd been following the other thread and wondering what happenned. I'm glad to hear Eek's doing well, and as for people, well one of my friends got car-doored while biking home from work last week and forty-od people must have stopped to look, but no one asked if she was okay or called for help. I don't know about some people...

OMG- sending MEGA healing prayers and vibes to Eek & you, both
I have been first on scene at several accidents where no one else would "get involved". One involved a 12yo girl who had a compound fracture of her lower left leg - when she thrashed in pain, the blood would squirt, so I was trying to hold her down. I was smaller than she, & quite unsucessful despite a large, staring crowd surrounding us. Finally a man named Andrus from Sweden helped me, till the paramedics arrived. I was really disappointed in humanity that night
SOOOO......extra blessings to the dear soul who came to your aid
