Earth, man.
If you click the link above titled cat health it will bring you to a page with a number of articles regarding, you guessed it, cat health. I recently read http://www.thecatsite.com/Health/81/...-Your-Cat.html and I would be interested to hear what everyone thinks of this article.

Other than suggesting that you feed wet and dry, not just dry, I felt this article fell short. There are so many posts in this forum about healthy foods, but not once have I found a post where this article is referenced or listed as a must read. This article mentions none of the information that is found in so many of the posts about healthy or quality food.

Happy Thanksgiving All!

As the writer of that article, let me tell you it really does need revision. It was in fact one of the very first articles I wrote for TCS and that was over a decade ago. A lot has changed since then. I know I want to change the bit about the wet vs. dry food for sure. If it's any comfort - this item is already on my to-do list

Since you brought it up, do please provide me with more ideas as to how it can be changed. What else would you like to see there? Not to say I will use every idea, but always nice to get help with research

By the way , a lot of the site's articles aren't referenced in threads - that in itself doesn't say much. I'm glad you're taking the time to read them and hope you'll find other articles worth mentioning in threads

I'm not sure it's possible for anyone to compose an article on feline nutrition that I wouldn't find lacking. There just isn't enough that is really known. Yeah, we can say what the very minimal needs are to sustain life but there is so much disagreement on what is needed to allow a cat to truly thrive and to live as long and as healthy a life as possible. Today, there is a lot of what, I think, can properly be called "conventional wisdom" but not a lot that is really known to be hard fact.

As for what I would like to see in an updated article, it's hard to say because *I* don't have the hard facts either. Only what I have come to believe based on what I've read and on the experiences of myself and others.

The aim of the article, and maybe that should be noted there in the intro (if it's not already) is to provide the basic for beginners. I will add something about nutrition being a wide field with many views and opinions and encourage readers to visit the board and learn more. Still, when someone just became a cat owner, what they need is the basics - like not picking up the cheapest cat food in the grocery store, not feeding only dry, and so on.

I thought about that further and possibly mentioning that different countries have different items available
