Patches died 10 years ago today on Thanksgiving!!!

I was at work when she died and they refused to let me go home and called me a baby for crying.
She died from arf and the er tried to save her but couldnt.
She was a feral we saved and I kept.
She was only 6 years old and I still miss her.
Thanksgiving is a sad time for me.

Oh, that's awful - I can't believe they wouldn't let you go home and actually ridiculed you! That makes me so angry. Some people have no heart.

What a terrible memory for you - it's such a shame that it coincided with Thanksgiving.

Patches died too young. But remember that she knew she was loved. So many feral cats die without anyone ever caring about them. You saved Patches from that fate and though you weren't there when she passed away, you provided the medical attention she needed to try to save her.

The depth of your feeling for Patches is evident in the poem you wrote about her that's posted in this forum. It's a beautiful poem and a very sweet tribute to your special girl.

I lost my Nina this time last year.. I understand your pain.. thanksgiving will be bittersweet from now on ...

The poem I wrote was for my first Patchesthat I saw born.
The other poem was for Stripe who was a feral we saved.
This one was named after her.
Nina I lost one Dec 5 th last year.
We must have lost them close together.
The place I worked in only cared about money and nothing else.
