What a christmas present that is
You can thoroughly enjoy christmas now
( I feel like a drink to celebrate!)

It's lovely to hear some good news here because weve had a lot of sadness on the site this year

My world turned upside down in an instant.

I had plastic surgery to ensure there was no cancer left and have had four years of (in the words of my Consultant) being stared at and prodded every few months
to make sure that nothing nasty came back. I was very fortunate not to need any further treatment.

Well, I've been counting off the visits - I thought I would have two more left. Today, I went for my examination and the Dr talked with the Consultant. Things have been so good and I caught the cancer early, so they are as sure as sure can be that it will NOT come back

Today, I was officially declared cancer free, discharged from the Dr and do not need to be stared at and prodded anymore!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations!
. Isn't it wonderful when your not prodded and poked and examined all the time?

Hubby and I opened a bottle that had been chilling in the fridge since our holiday to France in the summer. We had visited the Noilly Prat Vermouth distillery in Marseillan and brought back a bottle of their Amber vermouth.

We had been saving it for Christmas, but thought that the occasion merited an early opening
You would have been welcome to share a class - in fact here's a virtual glass of whatever is your tipple for all

You're right, Susan, there has been a lot of sadness around. It's good to be able to bring some cheer

It's going to be FANTASTIC not to have to be prodded and stared at every couple of months. I'm very grateful for all the care the Drs took, but won't miss those examinations

Thank you everybody for joining in the celebration

Ah yes, you definitely do understand the relief. Congratulations to you too for fighting the fight and coming out the other side of that battle

Thank you Natalie, Nat, Linny & Fran

If we celebrated Thanksgiving here, it would be just the thing to be thankful for
Indeed, I am very thankful. Not only for the news, but the wonderful friends I have here at TCS

Congratulations! That is wonderful news....great cause for celebration!!!

Now PLEASE don't become complacent. When you go for your 'yearly', please get checked out. Melanoma is a sneaky one, and you need to stay vigilant!

Have a glass of wine for me too!!!

Oh believe me, no danger of me being complacent - but it is a warning well worth giving. I am one of those strange skin cancer patients who didn't sunbathe
I have a kind of sun allergy - it brings me out in prickly, extremely itchy rash if I get sun exposure without sunscreen.

I also seem to produce melanin very very easily - hubby jokes that the sun only has to come out and I can tan inside the house. I have always used sunscreen, don't sunbathe and use sunglasses and a hat. I don't even use those creams that give a false tan - anything that stimulates melanin production seems like a dodgy idea for my skin

That is fantastic news!
But I must warn you that with cats, you probably will still be poked, prodded, and stared at!
