We went to Funworks tonight and I was hitting baseballs in the batting cage and the ball hit my fingers.
One is badly bruised and looks bent a little bit. It is blue from the knuckle down.
The other 2 are bruised also. Its hard to type on here also.

An easy way to see if they are broken is if you can move/bend them (without any help). If you Can't move them, they are likely broken... Otherwise they can be dislocated, and the doc can put it back in place. Either way you should keep your hand up... Try to put some ice/cold compresses today to stop the swelling... I am not a doctor, but broke/ dislocated many fingers when I was a pro volleyball player... That's kind of my area of expertise hehe

I hope you get better soon!

Thanks,
I put ice on it right of way.
The middle one I can not bend right now but the other 2 will be ok.
They are just bruised.

You might need to see a doctor if you can't move it by some time tomorrow... It's not going to be a big deal... But he will probably immobilize it for a little while. Anyway: good luck, and I hope it's just swollen! Keep us posted!

My son had a fracture of one finger a few weeks ago when a horse stepped on it. (Don't ask, LOL) The doctor advised him to tape it to the adjacent finger as a splint, and he's doing quite well with it.

Thanks for asking.
I can not bend it right now and its bruised on both sides but it dosent hurt as much.
The other 2 fingers have bruises also but they are ok.
It also feels hot when I touch it and is swollen.

Get thee unto a doctor. You don't want to lose the use of a finger from not taking care of even a dislocation.

I am now curious to see it! I would at least make sure it is immobilized somehow - if it is broken it will do no good for you to be moving it; for the sounds of it, I think you did indeed break it... Usually the docs just put a splint on it, and tape it up - there is not much else to do with broken fingers... Can you get to a pharmacy? You can get splints at CVS for the time being... Thank goodness you didn't break your arm or your leg!

Numb is not a good thing. You should go and get it looked at. A bruised finger doesn't usually cause numbness to the finger.

My DH had a broken finger earlier this year & his dr. just put a splint on it & told him to keep a splint on for 3 weeks and do a regimen of round the clock ibuprofen, to keep the swelling down. He didn't have numbness, tho. so if you have insurance, please go to the doctor.
My daughter crushed her thumb in a car door & it wound up getting an infection. Of course, she had bleeding under the nail, too, so maybe that's why it got infected.
Sending major healing prayers and vibes out to you

I would recommend seeing a doctor. I once sprained my finger playing basketball (someone tossed me the ball and it hit my middle finger, bending it far backwards) and I went to the doctor. They had me wear a metal splint for 2+ weeks, it was also very swollen and discolored for a while.

One thing I just remembered...my son's doctor said that broken fingers will be stiff and swollen for quite a long time afterwards, even more than you think they would be. It's been 3 - 4 weeks and his finger doesn't hurt much, but is still huge and very stiff.

Jackie, since I am posting this reply at 6 pm our time on Fri. I doubt you are going to get to see any doctor except in the ER which is probably more frustrating than the pain in your finger.

In the short run, how about asking for some short-term remedy from your pharmacist? She or he can direct you to the correct splints and may be able to tell you whether you should go to the doctor or not.
