Off to the vet with Lucas:(

My baby Lucas is very sick, I think his allergies have caused him to have a cough now, he is sneezing a lot and he has a fever of 104. His allergies got worse yesterday, I blame the food, he got all swollen and red, it was awful. I ordered Natural food for him online, but is taking forever to arrive, ugh!

Anyway, I'm off to the vet once again to see what they can do for my baby.

Many Prayers and for Lucas, please let us know how is doing.

poor Lucas!! Poor you!! Hopefully the vet will suggest something like just feeding him baby food or something simple like that.

I replied in his pic thread, but I wanted to add more prayers here for your little guy I am so sorry he is not feeling well.
Let us know what the vet says, hopefully you will be able to get this under control soon and he will be on his way to feeling better, poor baby

Thank you all for being so nice and for all your get well wishes for my Lucas. I just got back from the vet. he checked on Lucas and he doesn't have a cold, he does has a fever though. The vet told me he thinks lucas has an autoinmune disease, he thinks lucas has a type of Lupus. THis is the worst news ever, I'm so sad and worried .

He prescribed Prednisone 5mg and gave him something for the fever. he is sleeping peacefully right now. The vet also told me that sometimes this disease is triggered by stress, and that makes me wonder because Lucas has been through a lot of stress, for example when my aunts came to visit and stayed with us for three weeks and he never got this sick. he also was under a lot of stress when my brother got married, he missed him like crazy and Lucas never got this sick. But who knows? I will have to follow the treatment the vet gave him and see what happens.

I told the vet I was thinking it could be food allergies and he taold me that he didn't think that was the problem. I was hoping that was the problem, I don't want my Lucas to have lupus and to be constantly on medication.

I will just see how he does with the medicine for now and then see what else i can do.

Reseach and research and find as much info as you can to take to your vet to discuss. Because this is a "maybe", it still very well could be something else. Im so sorry your little baby is going through this. I will continue to keep him close in my thoughts, hoping he will be ok.

Thank you both so much. yes I'm doing a research and I'm trying to find out everything I can about Lucas' symptoms and the medicine he was prescribed. I'm afraid of the side effects, but I guess I will have to give it to him because he is so sick.

Thank you so much for telling me about Feliway and rescue remedy, I didn't know abouit them! I have so much to learn about kitties.
