I've been getting daily spotting between my periods since I went on the contraceptive pill, and the last 2 months when I was due to ovulate, instead I got heavy bleeding. Last time I thought my periods were just out of whack, but I realise now it's associated with ovulation.

I saw an ob/gyn, but it was a few hours after my last regular period started (typical), so she couldn't see a lot, and said the spotting was probably just hormonal due to going off the pill.

After a bit of googling, I'm thinking it's endometriosis, maybe an endometrioid cyst. I believe my mum had something similar a year or 2 ago (it's 3am there, so can't call to check
)

Anyone had either of these things? What symptoms did you have? What did they do for it? I'm going to get in to see my doctor ASAP, but was wondering if anyone could help.

I have it and I got anemia from the heavy bleeding.
The pain also is very bad everymonth when my period comes.
I also get back pain.
You do spot sometimes in between periods with it.
My periods also come every 3 weeks and are very heavy.
I got pain meds for it but they did not work.
Then I got back pain meds for my back and they helped the period pain.
The tissue grows on the outside and makes you want to go pee alot and the other.
I always get heavy presure.

I could also just be that the bc pill you're on isn't the one for you, based on a friend of mine's experience. I'd ask my doctor about trying a different one if all else is ruled out

I have never had it but my sister does. She had laser surgery for it a number of years ago before she could conceive her second son. Hers was to the point where her ovary was actually pulled down and pressed against her uterus.
The laser surgery included repositioning the ovary and removing the endometriosis by burning it away with the laser.
She noticed a difference fairly quickly because she had been having horrible cramping, break-throw bleeding and was sick everytime she ovulated.
About 4 months after her surgery she got pregnant with her second son but because of the condition her sons are 12 years apart.
It has come back to a certain extent however because she is now in the menopausal stage of her life it won't ever get that bad again.

If that is what you have it should be treated quickly so it doesn't affect your fertility.

That's what I think to. I haven't been on the pill for many years, but when I was, it took me months to find the right pill for me. If it's not strong enough it will give you breakthrough bleeding like you have now. Just go back to your doctor and ask for a different birth control pill. They aren't all the same.

My sister has problems right now with her pills.
Her periods are all messed up.
It can be from the pill.
I never had bc before ecause they were not safe for me to take.
That why I can not go past 2 months if preg.
So I never had kids.
I will not be having kids now because my husband has problems from the chemo.

I'm not on any BC, and haven't been for about 6 weeks - the main problems started when I stopped taking BC pills and started ovulating - I have gotten 2 days of heavy bleeding when I have ovulated the last 2 cycles.

It can take several months for your period to sort itself out after stopping the pill.

But would you expect daily bleeding, and heavy bleeding during ovulation?

Some women may experience bleeding pain and/or bleeding during ovulation. The thought is that there is a sudden drop in estrogen which triggers bleeding. But it shouldn't be heavy bleeding and shouldn't last more than a few days.

You've only been off the pill for 6 weeks. Your body could still be trying to sort itself out from the sudden withdrawal of synthetic hormones. If it doesn't straighten out in a few months, then I'd recommend going to your doctor for a gyne exam. If you are concerned however, then you should go to the doctor sooner.
