Bath and Body has a great sale this year, you buy $30 of stuff and get a gift bag worth $150 for $15, I saw it on Friday, its really nice

We always go to the Aurora Outlet mall on Black Friday. It's after DH's birthday so he gets new clothes then. And I mean ALL new. Like a new wardrobe full. He's so spoiled. I get my clothes from Walmart, Target or Kohls...

I won't be going out. Someone on here ---RosieMac I think--- inspired me and I have almost all of my holiday shopping not only finished but also wrapped! Thanks for the inspiration from the cat site

What is Black Friday?

I haven't stayed home on a black friday since I was old enough to know what a sale is

Several years ago, my mom and I went out at 4:00 in the pitch-dark morning and stood in a howling 28-degree gale outside a Wal-Mart for an hour just to save $20 on a bicycle for my nephew.

Never again.

Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving in the US. It is the official start of the holiday shopping season here so most store open early (like the ungodly hour of 4:00 or 5:00am) and have special sales all day. You can get some really good deals but the crowds are unreal!

I NEVER shop on black Friday and if at all possible I avoid going out that day.

Unfortunately ever since I started working in retail I don't have a choice.

No way do we go out in that crowd! Actually except for a few things that I buy my Mom and sister do the Christmas shopping since they're the ones with the money.

I hate crowds. I get very irritated and impatient in large crowds and lines. I hate waiting and having people in my way! I tend to walk very quickly and when I can't do so because of crowds or people moving too slowly in front of me I get annoyed. I try not to go shopping on weekends at all because there are too many people around... I think it's also why I dislike Walmart so much, there's always a lot of people in the store moving very slowly.
That said if there was a really good sale on something I wanted to buy I might go to a store. More likely I'd just order it online though.

Oh my goodness, yes!!! I LOVE Black Friday!!! I hate the crowds, but it is worth it for the deals you find. It is so amazing to see what they mark things down to! And it is a great day to buy Christmas gifts!! I cannot wait!!!

No I don't usually.I am not good with crowds of people.
I went a few years so I can't say I've never gone.

I work for Wal-Mart and have for 22 years.I've worked every day after Thanksgiving for all of them,but this year I'm taking the day off!'Bout time,don't ya think?And I'm staying home!Yay!

I with you on that! So much for the holiday spirit! People behave badly this time of year - too much stress and pressure. I shop with my mouse!

normally I try to avoid it but this year I am working at Dicks Sporting Goods in our mall so I have to be there at 4 am. Its going to be a long day!

I hate, HATE, HATE any kind of shopping, especially if there are crowds involved. I know...I'm a discredit to my gender. I think I'll watch football that day instead!

I'm with you! Even if I have to watch the Detroit Lions it's better than fighting crowds. I live down the street from two major malls west of Boston, and I don't even bother going on Route 9 on that day.

I think it depends on the weather for me... if it's freezing cold and there are lines starting at 2 AM then no thanks... I have friends who work in retail and they can hook me up with the situation and this year is kind of a paradox. The economy's bad so a lot of folks don't have the spending cash, but on the other hand people who are in the market for Black Friday stuff will be more likely to go in order to get a deal, so..who knows? Most in the retail biz say this year's rather unpredictable, but stuff may be at their cheapest level yet.

I have to work on Black Friday...could not be dreading it more!!! I'm planning to leave at least 45 minutes earlier from my house than I usually leave just so I can get to work on time...traffic around the area I work in is a nightmare every year.
