I am the type of person who will stop traffic to check "road kill" and even take the dead to bury them

Well awhile back I was with my boss. (I milk cows) feeding his cows and they are widely spread out. so We have ot cut across this huge hay feild to get to one group of cattle.

Well I saw something "black and white" in the distance. and it thought it was a premie still born calf.

As we drew closer it got smaller and smaller. As we reached it I saw it was a cat.

It looked like MY cat and my heart stopped untill I got a closer look. I ran out of the truck and picked it up. It was skin and bones. I thought it was dead.

But she was slightly breathing.

(ppl just think they can dump cats and they will survive on their own. she has no "wild" instincts"
)

Long story short. I subQed her fluids around the clock and worked her back up to solid foods.

She was pregnant

I do not believe in any form of abortion. Though I didnt think the kittens would make it if she was.

Well she has steadly grown bigger and bigger. and by a guess from the vet she should give birth soon.

I dont need Kittens right now. I can be sure of that. But I will get "Sugar" as I named her b.c she has some white frosting, Spayed as soon as I can and rehome her and her babies to good homes. I will keep you posted on Sugar and her impending babies.

the hardest part is going to be continually saying to myself...

"Mandie you cannot keep a kitten" "Mandie cannot keep a Kitten"

"Mandie... Sassy loves you the most and allthough she puts up with your rescues...she does not want a brother or sister...she has to put up with your sister and moms cat already
"

No news today. Hearty appetite. And quite frisky.
Oh the joys of not knowing.

Thank goodness you found that poor baby when she did. I hope that her babies are healthy. Keep us updated; it sounds like she's improving!

OW the insaneness! I always have the jitters when my goats and sheep are due to kid or lamb. (they are pets) But this is unreasonable! Not know the date makes it SOOOO HARD!!!! I mean not knowing the hour is mind racking...But the day..this is terrible!!

HOWEVER..She built a nest and has been in it since yesterday morning. only coming out for cuddles and food.

The resemblance is amazing!

I know just how you feel! I brought Elsa home - pregnant feral - after visiting the vet, who told me, "healthy, no diseases, two kittens, no more than 10 days."

She had EIGHT kittens THREE weeks later! It was amazing, and I hope Sugar does well. She is so lucky!

nothing new

although it seems like her milk is coming in. BUt its only on the bottom part of her stomach...and her nipples are the size of needle tips
we had to trim around each nipple so when she does have babies they can find the nipples. she has THICK short hair.

I think the vet was wrong. As big as she is I have NEVER felt a kitten. And lo and behold there has been no Kittens born. SO Im going to be taking her back to the vet. I am going to be so relieved if all this time we were all wrong.
If he agrees thats she is not then she will be Spayed
and I can finally start to try and find her a home

Ill let you know what the vet thinks
Mandie
