I finally got appointment

I have been waiting almost a year to see a Neurologist for my left arm. I finally got an appointment for next friday. I had surgery 18 months ago for Carpel tunnel and Guyons canal release. It was a total failure. I was referred to a different surgeon. He feels the problem is probably in my elbow. Hopefully now I will find out what is going on.

OMG why did you have to wait a year? Thats terrible! I hopelly you can now get to the bottom of this!

Good luck and I hope they figure out what the problem is quickly. Sometimes the waits can be horrible it took almost 7 months for me to get in to see a rheumatologist about my joint problems..

I can't believe how long some people end up waiting! Good gravy!

Hopefully they can get to the bottom of the problem.

It must be soooo frustrating having to wait that long but at least you have a date to look forward to now.

She probably didn't have a choice unless she wanted to spend a lot of money to shop around for a neurologist. Many come state side to do just that.

I hope you can get some answers soon. Has anyone at least done an MRI of your elbow? It could speed things up to have that out of the way instead of having to wait, see the neurologist, the neurologist ordering a MRI, then waiting for the follow up appointment to have the doc look at it and decide anything..

That's the price we pay for socialized health care. Sometimes the wait to see a specialist or to have a test can be a fairly long wait, but on the upside, anyone in Canada can get health care regardless of their income levels.

The reason the wait was so long. Is I live in a isolate part of the province. There simply is only one neurologist for the whole northern area. It is very hard to get specialists here.

That is a very long time to wait. Best luck with the appt
