I was reading about tabby cats, because my Max is a tabby. I was trying to find out what kind of tabby Max was. He has the tabby face (black lines coming from his eyes - he looks like he put on eyeliner) with just a few stripes on his chest and legs, his stomach is spotted and the rest of his body is ticked. Are tabbys usually a mixture like this?

Seems like most Tabbies have the M on their forhead too..There is a saying that when moses was letting all the animals in, he accidentally shut it ont he Tabby's tail or somewhere like that and the M is suppose to stand for Moses....I don't know if this is really true or not...
There is an Egyptian tale that the tabby "M" was placed there by Bast, the cat-headed Goddess, as a sign of her favor. Cat, in Egyptian, is "Mau".
Another legend says the the "M" is for the Virgin Mary.
