Poor Ana, may she rest in peace and be remembered forever by those firemen.

But I do have to say this doesn't surprise me since conditions at ground zero were so horrific. And I'm sure Ana isn't the only one that got extremely sick following the heroic efforts these search and rescue dogs made to find survivors.

It really is sad.

At least four other Search and Rescue dogs who were involved in rescue operations for 9/11 have died of cancer: Bear, Jake, Ivey, and Cowboy. Another dog Kenji was reported last summer to be dying from cancer.

Thanks to all the rescue dogs for all their hard work. I'm sure they have lots of playtime now over the Bridge. May they all Rest in Peace.
