I should have asked this before, but it just occurred to me. Do I have to do anything special when I thaw the baked cookies? I don't want them to turn to mush!

A lot of the cookies I'm going to be freezing will have icing on them eventually. I assume they need to be totally thawed before I even attempt that?

We froze chocolate chip cookies and other kinds. Just put them in the cupboard, microwave (not turned on) or anyplace that cats/pets can't get them. They thaw out fine and none for the worse.

You should be able to ice them when they're still frozen. Cookies thaw out pretty quickly. They aren't that moist, so it would be like thawing out a slice of bread. It won't get soggy unless you lave it inside a sealed bag while thawing.

My mom used to decorate cakes and things and was always making huge batches of icing and freezing it for future use.
