A few weeks ago, DH and I were sitting in the family room when Maggie brought in her favorite toy (a little fuzzball I crocheted) and started playing with it on DH's lap. He didn't really want her playing there, so he threw the toy across the room. She went and got it, then brought it back. He threw it again, and the same thing happened. We were surprised to find that she actually wanted to play fetch! Every day now we have a little fun playing fetch with her. After about 5 or 6 tosses, she takes the fuzzball and goes to play with it alone. I just thought it was so funny that she plays fetch, and we never even tried to teach her how to do it! So I though I'd make short video to show you all!

Aren't they wonderful to watch when they're retrieving?I have a tortie named Cookie who cannot go a day without her play time. It's something she taught herself and her favorite toys are paper chocolate candy wrappers. She absolutely knows when we bring home a bag of candy...those papers are hers! She even brings her toys to our friends who visit so they can play with her too. They're so smart!

That is so cute! Kiko does that, too. You are going to love when she brings her fuzzy toy and drops it on your face at 3 AM wanting to play fetch

Yeah...that's one reason we keep the bedroom door closed at night!

That's so cute!

Chynna and Abby used to play fetch. Now Chynna is "retired" and prefers cuddling to chasing toys. Abby has decided that she much prefers "hockey" to playing fetch. Her new game is that I bat the mouse across the room using my foot. She runs after it and falls on top of it and occasionally bunny kicks it. Then I have to go over there and bat it again so she can run after it. Rinse and repeat until we're both panting from the exertion!
