Brought home a kitten

I just go home from going to pick up a stray kitten that a woman I work with has been trying to rehome for weeks. His mother was caught and spayed and his brothers and sisters (all except 2 now) have been rehomed. Anyway, my question is, will he ever stop crying? Lol! He is in the bathroom by himself until Friday when he goes to the vet. After that I will try introductions. Well official ones. Pepper already pushed the door open to the bathroom to greet our new little friend. I live in an apartment and I just don't want him to annoy the downstairs neighbors-- not to mention I have to be at work by 7AM! I left a little night light on in there because I felt kind of bad with him being all alone at 10 weeks. Should I turn it off? I gave him a cat bed that I am sure smells like my other 2 so he could kind of get used to that, he has food, an impromptu litter box, water, even the crate I brought him home in so he could hide if he wanted to! Any suggestions?

stuff some socks [largish ones] w/raw rice & heat in the microwave for him to snuggle with - pseudo-littermates. poor baby's probably just lonely!

Sounds like he is really lonely. He's used to being with other cats/kittens. Do you try to spend time with him?

Well, we survived the night. I spent time with him before closing him up for the night, but he is definately very lonely. I can't wait to let him out of the bathroom so he will be much happier-- and so will I! He was such a love bug this morning when I went to take a shower but the shower scared him a little. Just can't wait to let him out!!

Took the little guy to the vet this morning and got the worst possible news--FeLV positive and what I thought was a URI were the first symptoms. Because I have 2 other FeLV negative cats and he had a sibling get put down with an unkonwn disease(I am thinking that 1 was affected even more by the FeLV), I couldn't risk it. I watched 1 cat go through it before and it was horrible. I never want to see it again. I had him put to sleep this morning. I feel horrible but I couldn't risk my other 2 cats lives. RIP little one
