To everyone who's served out country, or is a family member of one who has served: Thank you.

Welcome Home. We wouldn't be here today with out your service.

Because this is a cat site I found a wonderful slide show on The New York Times website: Dogs Serving Veterans

My dad was a WWI Vet who lied to join. He was 16 or 17 when he joined. (I was born when he was 56) Today would have been my parents' 52nd anniversary.

I have to work today but it will probably be slow since a lot of people think we are going to be closed.

You're welcome.

I was in the army in the 70s, stationed in West Germany. I didn't have the privilege of combat, but once I was kicked out of a Munich beer hall by a bouncer.

Our service men and women, past and present, have my utmost respect and gratitude.

(I'm an Army vet - 5 years active, 4 years reserves. I'll have to tell my boss I want the rest of the day off.

We tried to celebrate Veterans day a little at our house today.

The city (dh works as a police officer for our city) had a special service in honor of the veterans today. DH was on active duty for 8 yrs as a naval lt. and has been a reservist for the past few yrs since he's joined the police dpt. He got to dress up in his naval uniform and go to the ceremony along with a lot of other wonderful folks. I heard it was nice and they had a good turnout despite the weather. I was sad I didn't get to go though (I couldn't get off work.) Today is a special day - I hope everyone takes a few minutes out of their day to thank their friends and family that served and to remeber those who passed away in the service of their country.

To all of our other veterans and their families- Thankyou!!

Yes, thank you.

My dad is a Vietnam Vet, my uncle is a Navy Veteran, two Uncles were paratroopers during WWII and one of my best friends can retire from the Corps in another year or so.
