I am hoping to attend the San Diego Cat Fancier's show on the weekend of 01/24-25/2009. The secretary across the hall wants to go with me as she loves kitties as much as I do

My dream weekend would include a TCS meetup at the San Diego cat show. I've been twice & it's been great
There is a HolidayInn in National City and it was very economical, with a great restaurant & clean warm jacuzzi & pool - the town itself is intimidating for unescorted ladies (IMO) but once you're there at the hotel, it's wonderful. So I think that a TCS meetup could be a possibility

Would any of our TCS kitties be present in SD

Any other good shows that I should consider?? My friend is willing to visit almost anywhere in CA, so I wouldn't have to go alone.

I'm not showing, but I'd like to go. I live in Los Angeles, which isn't too far from San Diego, and I was born in San Diego. I don't think San Diego is intimidating. It's a pretty mellow city.

I can go to San Diego and get a car and a inn free.
My husbands friend owns a Inn there and he said we can go anytime we want.
We want to go one day but my cat has to have meds every night.
I went to Reno for a cat show before and I have been to San Mateo,San Jose,Stockton,Millbrae and Pleasanton cat show. I met a breeder at Stockton and she quit talking to me after her kittens were born.
Thanks to people in this group I have a new breeder and my kitten is coming soon. My only problem would be my cats because we have no one to watch them.

I'm from Canada and a lady (= I have never had any difficulties in SD and I have been there over 5 times to holiday. It's a really nice city. Doubt I'd be traveling there to show, but it might be nice to go be a spectator.

I am hoping to support the cat show circuit even though I'm just a spectator because I feel that they promote cats overall and in these tough economic times, I want to support anything that helps cats!
I love seeing "first-timers" witness the celeb-personas of the show cats, and the amazed onlookers at the agility ring, esp. when I hear "I didn't know you could get a cat to do that!" - cats are just so under-rated
