Not fighting over toys

It's interesting that when Slasher and Ripper are chasing a toy, when one of them catches it, the other never tries to take it away. He'll wait until the first kitty lets it go before trying to pounce on it.

It that a sort of code among cats?

Interesting observation
And now that you mention it, I guess it is "good cat manners". I hope this post gets more attention, cuz I'd love to find out what the others here think

I have 9 cats, 8 of them will wait their turn. My 9th cat Mo is the Alpha cat he takes it away if he wants it.

Hearing the other peoples stories make me think it must be "cat code of honor". Unlike dogs.


I observed this all the time with my kitties and I think it is the cutest thing. They will watch each other take turns. Sometimes they won't even want to play they'll just watch the other one play. Silly kitties.

My cats are more like kids. They can have 4 of the same toy, but which ever one the other cat is playing with is the one they want. They generally don't fight, but have been known to walk up to each other grab the toy & run.
