toys in the water?

Does anyone else have an issue with their cats putting toys in their water bowl?
I posted before about how much Google loves water, but every night he sticks at least one toy in the water bowl. Normally its one of my hair ties. He LOVES them. Its annoying. He can like smell them out! He got one out of my purse the other night while I was asleep and the next morning when I went to put my hair up, I find the tie in the water bowl and Kahlua staring at me waiting for me to get it out.
Last night though was a winner. We had a stainless bowl out with water because we watched my dads dog yesterday, well my room mate got up to discover Googles catnip sock floating in a lovely bowl of Catnip Tea...

This is weird! Can we stop it? I think he wants to hide his toys from the other cats but isnt there a better spot? Like under the couch like a normal cat?

I used to have a cat that put her toys in the water dish and then bring it to me to throw. Dusty will put her furry mice in the bowl on occasion. I hate getting the soggy things out.

Well, Bodhi doesn't put things in his water bowl... at least not yet. However, I have to say that I laughed out loud imagining a kitty putting toys in his water dish!! Something about that is really cute! I don't mean to laugh at your misfortune though!

Oh no its completely fine we think its really funny. Just kind of odd!
