Hi guys,

We have a new Russian Blue kitten, who has only been with us for about 24 hours. She's just over three months old. Last night, her first night with us, she spent a lot of time meowing constantly. Today, as expected, she's spending most of her time hiding behind the sofa. I know that Russian blues are very shy with new people, and that she needs time to adjust, but as far as the constant meowing thing is concerned, what's the best way to deal with that? A lot of advice I've read online for cats in general says that kittens meowing a lot is a sign that they are missing their mothers/brothers/sisters, and should be cuddled a lot and given lots of physical contact. However, in light of the Russian blue's sensitivity, is this still the best way to deal with it in her case, or should we leave her be and let her adjust before we start trying to handle her too much? I want her to feel comfortable and loved as soon as possible, but I don't want to upset her in the process. Any advice would be most welcome.

She is missing her mom.
Sasha my Russian Blue mix was the same way and even though she is over 2 now she is still scared of anyone taht comes over.
I would keep petting her but not be pushy.
Sasha was 3 months when I got her also.
