Cleaned out my freezer this morning and came across a couple of packages of stewing beef so it looks like Beef Stew is on the menu tonight. Sounds like a good idea since it is freezing here today.. Along with that I guess I will make a batch of biscuits and fruit for dessert.

Over the river and through the woods...
I just got steak and chicken out of the freezer (we buy them in family packs then freeze them individually) but you know what I'm really craving tonight? A good old fashioned grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup! So, I'm guessing DH will eat the steak, the chicken will be frozen for another day I'm I'm just going to eat what I want!

I made a big supper tonight as I was in a cooking mood. I made lasanga with four different kinds of cheese, and mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, and garlic bread. What was on your menu.

We had fried potatoes, beans, canned sweet potatoes, green stuff (LOL, looks like spinach but isn't, I have no clue), elbow macaroni with tomatoes, and corn bread.

I made a large pot of beef stew today so for dinner I had a bowl of that with homemade biscuits and for dessert some fruit cocktail with whipped cream. It was really yummy....

Linguini with clam sauce, a salad and garlic bread. I'm getting a craving for beef stew now, thanks to tierreO.
I think I might make it this week-end when I have more time.

The "tickets" from the two flights of wine...

On the left, the first flight, the whites, accompanied by three meats and two cheeses and assorted condiments: cornichons, Guinness mustard, quince paste; on the right the second flight, the reds, accompanied by three cheeses and two meats and assorted condiments: assorted olives, spicy peppers, piccalilli.

When we were done with these, the "surprise" was presented: a 2004 Portfolio (a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot), and more goodies: a couple of pates, a German prosciutto, and several more lovely condiments.

This is such a fine experience. A really lovely evening, with nice wines, lovely food, good service, and a bunch of people who are there because they love good food and wine. I'm set for another six months.

DH is out of town tomorrow and the next day, so I'll probably be keeping the efforts simple from here to Thursday. (Friday is his birthday dinner, so that will be no holds barred roast lamb.)

I am thinking Fish for tonight, Most like Haddock done in breading baked with seasoned potatoes and some type of veggie.

I have been a little to carnivorous lately eating way to much red meat so it's time for something else.
