I have been thinking of renaming him since I brought him home 2 weeks ago... he seemed to recognize his name, Willie, so I wanted to find something sorta related in sound. I also really wanted his name to have meaning to me. Well, last weekend the perfect name finally came to me!
So, here goes:
Willie's new name is Bodhi (with a long O sound) His full name is actually Bodhisattva which, in Mayahana Buddhism, refers to an enlightened being that refrains from entering nirvana in order to help alleviate the suffering of others. I think it fits him perfectly!! He definitely alleviates much of my suffering on a daily basis just with his presence.
Anyways, I've been calling him that name and he usually comes to it if I make eye contact with him. He's such a smart boy!
