Good morning!

It's supposed to be another beautiful autumn day here today. Yesterday it got up to 70 F, and it's supposed to be nice and warm again today. I'm planning to get the rest of my garden cleaned out, and some more tulip bulbs planted today.

Today's question:

Do you plan to get, or have you gotten the flu shot?

I got the flu shot last year (for the first time), and I was sicker last winter than I've ever been in my life! So, I think I'll pass this year!

I also got the flu shot last year and then got the flu in March. The flu shot is only effective for the strains that are in the shot, not every strain. Last year they were a bit off as to which strains would be the most rampant.

I am going for my allergy shots this morning and if they can give it to me, I will also get the flu shot.

DH has 2 medical conditions and I have asthma so flu shots are a must for both of us. Unfortunately, they dont always work for me. The bad thing is that I actually have some sort of allergic reaction to respiratory viruses (according to my allergy doctor). When I get the flu it takes me a good week, sometimes more, to get over it, and the entire time I'm praying for death.
I would assume the flu shot actually the severity of the flu when I do get sick.

I do not normally get a flu shot as I am in a low risk group.
However, since I now work in an RV resort, I work with mostly retirees and of course they are a high risk group, so this year, I will be getting a shot, on Friday to be exact.

No I won't being getting one. Since I'm in a low risk group and am healthy and can cope with getting sick, I'd rather not risk the side effects of the shot.

I'm in that "over 50" group that is supposed to get one but I have a really good resistance to catching colds and such so I don't really want one. However like Arlyn with my pt job I come in contact with many senior citizens so getting the shot might be a good decision.

Yup. Already done. Mother and daughter flu shots!

Especially since I am her primary caregiver and she is elderly (84).

I never used to, but I did get one a couple weeks ago. I was horribly sick last year, so if I can avoid it this year I will!

As far as I know here, you have to be 65 or over and be in a high risk group, so no, no flu jab for me!
