Bella crossed the rainbow bridge while I was out of province working. I'm so heartbroken that I couldn't be with her during her final days.
I know it might sound weird since she was so old, but I really didn't think this would happen so soon. Even my dad (who was there when it happened) said he didn't expect it either. He said that one minute she was walking up the stairs and then she soiled herself and her back legs stopped working. She didn't get better so we decided together that the best thing for her would be to take her to the vet and let her pass on.
I remember when I got Bella, her owner had died and no one really seemed to want her because she was older and deaf. After a couple days with her I was completely in love and said that I would only adopt older disabled kitties from now on because they're so full of love.
She was the most affectionate cat I ever had. She would always come to bed with me and snuggle her head into mine and purr.
She loved be close to me all the time. She adored it when I picked her up and took her for walks around the house to show her things that were too tall for her to see because she couldn't jump. She loved it when I took her outside with me in the garden. And I just loved having her around no matter what we were doing.
