I work at a nursing home and we had an awesome Halloween there yesterday, with an employee potluck and a party atmosphere that lasted all day. All the staff were required to come to work in costumes, so I came as a pumpkin with little antena pumpkins bobbing around on a headband for 8 whole hours. We had a number of people come dressed as cats, and one even came as a pregnant black cat. The two funniest costumes were the employee who came dressed as an angel and the one who came dressed as a nun. This was especially funny since we work at a Catholic nursing home and these two employees worked together on the same wing. It made you feel like you should start praying or something when you saw them together...and some of the residents looked absolutely shocked when these two came into their rooms.

And speaking of the residents, they were dressed in costumes too and were going to pass out Halloween candy to all the kids who came in during the evening.

That's it!

Sounds like a fun day!

I guess I, too, would be a bit concerned if an angel and nun walked into my room.

This morning one of the residents told me that a lot of kids were trick or treating at the nursing home Friday evening. A change of routine is good for these people.

It most certainly is.
It was those things that kept my Dad alert and interested in the last 3+ years of his life. Good on the nursing home for doing stuff like this.
