Old School Horror Movies

I like old school horror movies soo much better than the new horror movies that are out . Stars like Vincent Price and Bela Lagosi and Lon Chaney are much more scarier ... Turner Classic Movies has a Vincent Price Marathon all day today ... And I watched it again just like last year. Right now I am watching this old scary flick with Burgess Meridith of Rocky movies fame called The Torture Garden.

That's because the movies actually depended on the acting ability of the actor, not the special effects. Now a days most movies are so filled with special effects that it over shadows the actors, and TBH, there isn't an actor of my generation that can even hold a candle to the names you mentioned, because now the ability to act is pretty much secondary to looking good on camera. Heck you don't even need to be able to sing to be in a musical anymore. They will actually hire someone to do a voice over for an actor who can't sing.

yep, blood and guts do not a scary movie make.

I think special effects have actually made movies worse. The directors are so enthralled with what they can do with CGI that they don't bother with good actors and an engaging plot.
