I am so glad that I don't have to do that anymore.

Even when I could do it I hated yard work.

But look on the bright side...if you leave them long enough they will disappear under a blanket of snow.

Oh, that looks so inviting! I miss living in a place with enough trees and enough autumn for that to happen.

We have an old home movie from the '50s of my grandfather raking leaves in the backyard, with a heavy-set grey tabby playing with the leaves as they flutter around. At the end, Grandpa drops the rake, scoops up some leaves with his hands, and buries the kitty in the pile. Then a vigorous tummy-tickle ensues. It's so sweeeeet!

No on the help but I will gladly sit nearby with a hot mug of cocoa and supervise!

It has been really windy here so all of ours have blown into the next county. I don't think I've seen that many leaves piled up in a yard.

Karen, I'll help you if you come and help me too! 30 bags of leaves so far (the big, brown Home Depot or Lowe's ones), we usually hit 50 when all is done. Small yard, big trees.

Edit: this picture was last week.

It's VERY windy here....solved the leaf problem!
Unfortunately all the corn husks from the field around us are now in the place of the leaves.

All of the leaves on our cherry tree fell overnight too. It took me several hours to rake them all and bag them up. Now they are in 12 or so bags in the garage. I should have taken a picture!

Leaves are pretty but raking sucks.

Rhonda, your leaves are so pretty! You've got quite a few on the roof too!

The first batch was cleared here and now there are plenty more to replace it.
We normally have quite a few still on the ground when the first snow falls.

I've spent two weekends raking leaves and hubby has been out during the week two. I've filled the garden bin - the council takes it away to compost the garden rubbish and also filled a dozen bags of leaves and taken them to the dump (couldn't wait two weeks til the garden bin is emptied again).

This weekend, the front and back gardens are full of leaves again - so guess what I'll be doing.

Still, it's nice to get out there with the birds and squirrels. The chickens love it and run through the leaves when I'm raking them and I guess it saves on gym membership fees
