I have been feeding this grey cat for a little while...well..I've named him smokey..I dunno..first thing that came to my mind really...
anyway..i've managed to get him to answer to the name...if I yell it out..he comes and meows..so..thats a step..i've actually been able to pet him...even picked him up a few times..he doesn't scratch me or anything..well..he did once but he got spooked..by a noise..so..I don't count that one...
he's not fixed..has no tattoos....and well..he now has a collar..cause I put one on him....
I did bring him into the house..basically picked him up..walked into the house and put him on the floor...the first time..he just ran through the kitchen into the dining room..living room and back to the door...
and sat by the door and meowed...but I petted him and he calmed down..kept him inside for around 10 minutes then let him back out...
that was the first day...the 2nd day..I managed to keep him inside a little longer..and held him..for awhile..he kinda clings to me..
but yesterday was day 3..and I was home alone..with my 2 cats..I managed to get him to stay in here..twice..the first time for around 2 hours..although he mainly went into the basement and sat there.....I was wondering how my 2 cats would react to him.and I watched him in case he started spraying...
and luckily he didn't.
Salem went up to him..and sniffed him..and I think he even licked smokey...
Sabrina watched him...and..well hissed at him twice..but thats all she did..
mind you she did that to salem the first day home too...so..thats nothing..but they didn't scrap...
I let him out of the house in the early afternoon...
he came back ..and after Jim got home (my partner)..I managed to get smokey back into the house..that was around 5 pm...and I let him out around 8:30 pm...
but..I did manage to pet him lots..and he started purring up a storm..walked all over me..rolled on me..gave me his belly...
he's at least not shaking as much...
I've showed him the litterboxes...
a few times....and I actually got him wandering around the house slower yesterday evening...both of us (jim and I) stayed near the cat..he lets both of us pet him...although he does come to me..more then Jim...
im gonna be phoning around trying to find out how much it costs to fix him...
and check him out...
I don't want him freezing out here...its cold here in winter...
no cat can handle -40...
