One little (and probably insignificant) difference between Biden and Palin

Remember the debate between Biden and Palin? Seems like a long time ago, now. But in it, Biden mentioned going down to Union Street in Wilmington, DE, and talking to the people at Katie's Restaurant or at the Home Depot. The only trouble is, neither of those is on Union Street (perhaps a grammatical slip), and Katie's has been out of business for almost 20 years.

Palin has mentioned a consignment shop where she buys clothes in Alaska. It not only exists, but the owner acknowledges that Palin and her daughter actually shop there.

I told you it wasn't a big deal, right?

What he meant to say was...... when Katie's was open back in the 80's, he talked to people there.

Yeah, that's it.

I remember going to this pizza place like um 11 years ago called Papa Ramonos. Wow that was the best pizza place. I loved it. I still haven't been able to find a pizza quite as good. iv'e talked about this place for years and still do. Guess what? Well probably about a year ago I was talking to my brother about it and he let me know they went out of business shortly after I left my home town which was about 10 years ago.

I'm just saying

But...you're not running as Vice President of the United States. So you're not held to the same standards of accountability in what you say.

However, most people know Biden is a bit...crazy and Palin misspeaks often enough to make even the most devoted voter cringe. Either way, my mind was made up way before this, and this doesn't make a difference.

You are right. It is not a big deal. But I had to do some digging of my own. There is a Kozys on Union Street and still a Wings at Katies where the former Katies used to be. I think much more was made of it than it warranted. We could write 300 threads about gaffes.
Or you could be like Andrew Sullivan who lists all the things Palin lies about in sequence.
