Orianna and Arkose have been on an ointment each since receiving them in mid-July. Arkose is on "Neomycin & Polymyxin B Sulfates w/ Bacitracin Zinc", while Orianna is only on "Terramycin with Polymyxin B Sulfate". When they were born they had infections in theirs eyes. Arkose actually has a birth defect and her eye lid has a fold in it and makes he eye lid miss shapened as well as creating excess liquids. As this is why she gets her ointment. Orianna, however, has an ever runny eye. Usually we have to put the ointment in her eye once a month as it comes back rarely. But this week it's been unusually runny. When I clean it is has a brown goo in her eyes. Is this normal? I took a picture of the goo on a tissue and also took a pic of her runny eyes to see if anyone has any ideas. On Monday they are going in to get spayed so if it is something concerning I want to talk to the vet about it then. Please let me know!!!!

Here is her eye:

And the goo:

Arkose - her eyelid turns inward, right? That's a condition called Entropian. Have your vet fix it when he spays her (surgically fixing it is required - you can PM sarahp as she went through it with her Smudge).

Orianna - she could well have herpes. It's something you need to talk to your vet about.

Terramycin & Neomycin are 2 different types of ointments - it could well be you are using the wrong one. Once my herpes kitty had a nasty eye infection & I had to put Gentac drops in her eyes 3x a day....it was a nightmare, but it fixed the infection (not the weepy eyes from the herpes, though).
