Apparently I signed up here two years ago. I'm not sure why I didn't post! Anyways, I currently have two cats. My first cat (Paige) I've had for over two years. At the time I was working in a vet clinic. Someone ran in, dropped her off saying they found her on the street and kids were being mean to her, then ran out. She was pregnant, but extremely malnourished and very, very skinny.
We kept her for a couple hours until she was sent off to the humane society. They spayed her right away so she wouldn't have the kittens (she was estimated to be under a year old and I'm not sure if she would have survived given her condition, and I doubt that the kittens would have
) I instantly fell in love with her. My friend agreed to foster her until I moved into my own place (which was happening in a month). She is the best cat anyone could ever ask for.
Two months ago I adopted another cat (Gabriel). He is estimated to be a little over two years old, but he still very much acts like a kitten! He had been returned to the shelter twice in the past, no real reason given. He was so sweet and although it was so hard to decide between them all I finally chose him. We found out the reason(s) why he was probably returned so many times. He's naughty in that he jumps up onto everything and knocks things down/over (including FULL water pitchers! what a mess), he attempts to eat bags and toilet paper, and he meows constantly, although mostly when I lock him out of the room I'm in. He also wasn't neutered when he was previously owned so I suspect he may have sprayed as he did it once when he first came to live with me. And although he's a little naughty he is still a wonderful cat.
I also have a green cheek conure (Cedric), as well as a crested gecko (Isaac) and 2 betta fish (Faye and Alpha). I also have two dogs living with my parent's (Rocky and Bailey).
As for myself I am currently working as a pet stylist and do in home pet sitting. I have also worked in a petstore and vet clinic in the past. I will be going to university in january, majoring in genetics. Anyways, I hope to stick around for awhile this time!
