at my house, there is quite a few feral kittys that hang around. they all get along and they usually stay on the porch and have been given shots/fixed. 2 kittens almost a year old are the most frequent visitors. one is a little shy and usually hides untill she sees one of us and the other is more out going.

well, about a few days ago some other kitty, looks to be over 1 yr old, started coming in our yard. usually this isnt a problem. but, this kitty crys and crys and wants human attention, but hisses at the other kittys and trys to make then go away. this is causing the shy kitten to not come out as much as she used to and just making the other kittys feel uncomfortable. it also trys to take all the food left out for the other ones. this new kitty is "distrupting the peace" so to say.

is there anything we can do to make this kitty NOT come in our yard? we tried calling some animal shleters and such, but they dont have any room and some wont take it because they think it may have an owner (here is no ID on this kitty unfortuantly). we tried shooing it away and not feeding it, but it just keeps staying here.

Great that you are taking care of the ferals in your neighborhood by getting them spay/neutered and vaccinated. You improved their lives.

The newcomer sounds more like a very scared stray. He may have been an inside cat and got out, then disoriented and lost. His owners may have put him out and moved (unfortunately very common). Someone may have dropped him in the area knowing there are other cats around. And so on.

You have a food source and he is hungry. Sounds like he wants some human comfort, too.

My thoughts are if you could catch him and get him to the vet. Need to make sure he or she is spay/neutered (may help with fighting) and vaccinated (to protect everyone).

Meanwhile, call all vet offices and animal control to see if anyone reported a missing cat that looks like it. Put up flyers in grocery stores and the like.

Do you have a spare bedroon or bath that you could put it in to recover after vet and give you time to look for other options.

This is a link that might help. The caption on 'feral friends in your area' has highlighted "inqury form". Fill that out and they will put you in touch with rescue groups close to you. Great advice and help.

You could try feeding it away from the others until you get things sorted out.

Good luck to you. Keep posting questions. There are many people here that have experience.
