This is my little foster kitten

It's a little "feral" I trapped last weekend. It's not feral though, just very scared. The little one lets me pat it, but hasn't learnt to enjoy it yet. I think it purred once, but I can't be sure.

It hates being picked up, even if I scruff it. The first time it got out of my hands and tore all around the room freaking out until I finally ushered it into the new cage I had for it. The second time I was trying to scruff it to sex it, and given that I keep calling it "it", you can probably guess that I failed... The poor thing hissed at me for a day after, but has settled down again.

But since I still have no idea of the sex, I need a gender neutral name so I can stop calling it "it".

Suggestions?

I really Like the name Riley and I think that that name could go either way given I know off a girl named riley and a guy named Riley to.

I like the name Sam too

Oh yeah, and for those who don't know the story - this kitten screams/cries all night!! That may help with the sort of name it gets. I haven't become very attached to it yet...

" River" Because he/she was running through the room like an angry current in the river. Corny, but we name all our ferals and rescues something that has to do with where they were living, caught or what was happening at the time. Trapped one in the middle of the warning sirens for a tornado. She was freaking out as we were also and earned the name "Tornado".

A beautiful little baby with soft questioning eyes.

Hey I like River - it's very poetic, and definitely suitable for a male or female.

I had a feral kitten who also was a screamer. My sister suggested Rebel, short for the Billy Idol song "Rebel Yell". It fit, and it stuck!

Under the cats, mostly.
my guess is it's a little girlie - I can see the red around kitty's nose, as well as white, black stripes and a white muzzle - in my experience, the majority of "wild" coloured cats turn out to be girls. Doesn't look that big.... how about Akiko? It means "born in autumn".

It might be a girl. I think all tabbies are boys
And all Siamese/lynx point are girls - so his lynx point sibling who is still running around is a girl as far as I'm concerned, and he's a boy.

Akiko is a really sweet name!

But Jean works for a girl too.
There was heaps of great names, but I liked this idea! He is definitely a boy, so we're calling him Jimmy after Jimmy Barnes, the Australian old school rocker known for his screaming rather than singing (and I was just listening to the song "Khe Sanh" - an Aussie favourite!
