Well, the thread title explains this. Should I get toothpaste for cats? She's only 2 1/2...getting her teeth cleaned is no biggie...but it would get expensive if I had to do it every 2 or 3 years!

I have a cat with allergic ginginvitis ... in her case she has no plaque just red gums and it is grain and meat allergies ...

I would say unusual but I am far from a expert ... I would suggest taking her to another vet for a second opnion....

true story with my dog ... vet 1 said she needed a dental and likely teeth removed at age 7 ... second vet said NO not yet she got her first dental NO extraction s at 12.5 yrs

Holly Golightly, my orange cat, had very stinky breath. I bought cat toothpaste but it didn't erradicate the odor. At her last vet appointment several weeks ago, the vet noticed that she had red gums and diagnosed with her gingivitis. She prescribed an antibiotic called ClindaCure for two weeks. It's obviously working well because the gums are no longer red and her breath is normal now. You may want to ask your vet about it.
