Cat barley eating

My 4 and a half cat recently reduced his eating a LOT.I am wondering if it is because we had gotten a kitten and had him around for a week or so.My cat seems to eat a very little and then walks away,he sometimes smells it and walks away.i do notice him eating a little bit but nothing like before,He used to eat it so fast that he would throw it up sometimes because he would just scarf it down.Can anyone relate or does anyone know anything????please help!!!

First of all, take your cat to the vet to rule out any medical issues. Most likely it's stress of the new introduction, so you might want to put your new kitty in a separate room while your older kitty eats (or vice versa). Give your older kitty LOTS and LOTS and LOTS!! of positive praise, love, and attention when the invader kitty (new cat) isn't around. Your older kitty is probably confused and scared with the upset of his world and position in your life. Also, invest in a Feliway diffuser to help reduce the stress level in your home and help soothe your older cat's nerves. Keep us posted!
