It's just Rob and me tonight -- a while since we've had a Friday night alone -- so, it's "Spoil the Boy Night".
I think I will see if I can find some decent veal. It's the one thing I don't do when Number One Son and his SO are with us, since it's the one meat she'd really rather not eat, thank you very much -- so we get our fix when they're not with us -- and it is one of Rob's favourites.

Assuming I'm successful with that purchase, it'll be scallopini with parmesan and tarragon and a white wine/butter sauce, accompanied by buttered noodles and a fairly simple salad. And it will be impossible to shop for the veal without passing by Duso's -- the purveyor of, among other things, a very fine Tiramisu, which we will simply have to have for dessert.

We're going out to an Italian restaurant tonight.

Wild caught salmon on a bed of fresh spinach leaves with a side of roasted red potatoes, cut in chunks drizzled with olive oil and basil. Which reminds me, I had better go make some tea for dinner tonight too. We are out! And cut some lemons

We have to enjoy pizza night while we can because once we get the house in December, all our money will be going to the more important things!

Tonight I am having left-overs. I made the chicken casserole recipe off the stove-top stuffing box yesterday and it was really good. So I am having the rest of it tonight with a green salad..

Yesterday was pizza night, like every Friday night, for us.

Tonight, I am making Vegetable Bouquet on Rotini. It is the last hurrah for summer vegetables. I am hoping that if I make tonight then fall will come. Supposed to be in the mid- to high eighties today.

The veal was great last night, the noodles got replaced by risotto cakes, which were looking delectable in the same counter with the tiramisu -- I'll do THAT again! And the salad was butter lettuce, Granny Smith apples sliced thin, fresh mint, dressed with Litehouse Raspberry and Walnut. I usually prefer to make my own dressing, but there are a few bottled ones that are worthy of good food -- this is one of them.

Tonight I'm thinking we may be due for a soup and bread meal, and I've been threatening for a while to do a clam chowder, so maybe it's time for that.

ETA: When it came down to it, I wasn't in the mood for soup and bread, but I also didn't really feel like cooking anything that was in the house. We ordered Vietnamese, which turned out to be an excellent idea -- it was really good!
