Jack-O-Lanterns!

This weekend, my boyfriend and I carved our Jack-O-Lanterns- It's one of our favorite parts of Autumn.
We're both pretty artistic- but while I'm a painter and sculptor, Danny's a drawer and a carver
His Jack-O-Lantern is always wayyy cooler than mine!

So I thought I'd share....

Do either of you play World of Warcraft? They have a pumpkin carving contest going on right now. They have to be WoW themed, but I think either one of you could do well.

Great pumpkins, Jillie! I always laugh when I see the puking pumpkins.

I hope you don't mind, but I think we should start off the holiday and make your thread the official Jack O' Lantern thread

I'm not as creative as Jillie and her BF. I cheat and use patterns

Those are great!! One year I'm going to try my hand at carving a pumpkin. I haven't done it since I was a kid and in fact back then my Mom did the carving, I got to scoop out the guts!

I love to see how creative people get with carving.

It only lasted 4 days and didn't even make Halloween! Sad...

I just finished mine!


I did it all with a tiny curved knife, and a melon baller. It took way too long. -.- I'd never done one like this before.

ps- Don't mind the salt and pepper shakers. I did it for an online pumpkin carving contest, and they requested shakers in the picture to prove it's your pumpkin.

Julie- That 's a great pumpkin! It must have taken you forever!

Sarah-You did a great job, too! I was thinking of doing the trick-or-treaters one, too! I'm sorry they got all hot. You need to soak them in water if you are carving days before. I carved three more tonight and have one more to do

Those are some great lanterns everybody! I especially like the one that's lost his lunch!

This one goes back a few years also. I couldn't find any other pics but I spent a good day doing a fully rigged sailing ship and another year I did the "Three lil' Aliens" a play on the "Three Bears" theme.



This year it's Gandalf. Will post pics when done. Keep 'em comin' everybody they're great.

IMPRESSIVE I don't do a pumpkin, I live in the country and havn't had kids in 8 years. before that we had an average of 2 kids.
