I have to say her makeover did look good. I lived out in the hinterlands once where is snowed all of the time and had long dark winters. You really rarely have designer clothes to wear. You have gear not a wardrobe. Cindy McCain wore more on that convention night than all of Palin's loot which I think she should keep.
I loved little Piper's makeover too and her little LV purse. Piper is adorable.
Truthfully, if she had been wearing her dated cheaper stuff that didn't photograph well she have been made fun of as some hick with off the rack clothes. I saw her outfits pre-Saks and it did her no justice. She needed to look spectacular and pulled together. Expensive clothes do that. They are made better, they fit better and show better. I saw her go back to her red suit and I groaned inwardly. It looked terrible on her. I liked the new and improved Sarah. She looks pretty and there is nothing wrong with looking great. I even looked at her makeup once and thought-Ooooh I just love that lipstick. She had to meet dignitaries, go to fundraisers with wealthy people and lets face it Todd needed a couple of nice suits too.
It would be the same with a man. He would need expensive well made suits to look good. Good shoes.
Now the hair and makeup was a bit much but I don't know the going rate for top of the line stylists who are willing to travel and work a rough campaign schedule.
So while I am no fan of Barracuda I have to defend her on this one. She wasn't the one buying the clothes and the people buying them are probably quite comfortable with 750 dollar shoes and have wives who dress expensively. They have most likely shopped at high end stores forever and had not stepped foot in a mall ever in their lives.
What woman is not going to put on beautiful pair Manolo Blahniks and feel like Cinderella?
My shock is to find out this horrid pantsuits Hillary wore cost 7,000 dollars. Ugh.
I don't have issue with getting free clothes from designers either. They do it often for free advertisement. Someone in the RNC should have simply approached a designer or a stylist and I bet they could have gotten a lot of them dying to dress her for free and use all that free advertisement.
