I was delivering a loaded trailer to the Toys R Us store in Laredo, TX, about 2 a.m. It's right next door to a Motel 6, just a wood fence between the two driveways.
I was just finishing up when I heard some shouts, then what I at first thought was a gunshot, but in looking back think was probably a door slamming. An engine revved up, tires squeals, and a black Ford F150 came screaming by me, just on the other side of the fence. I climbed back up in my truck cab, and a bunch of guys were coming out of the motel rooms. Apparently the guys in the pickup were burglarizing a pickup with a bunch of stuff in the bed.
I'm glad there wasn't actually shooting; I would have been right in the line of fire!
