Hi guys, I have a question.

My kitty isn't a lap cat, but when I do place her on my lap, she stays there for quite a while and sometimes would take a nap. However, when other members in my family try to do the same, she always run off. Do you guys know why? Does this have anything to do with the fact that I'm the one who take care and give her attention the most?

She obviously trusts you the most to go to sleep in your lap

Some cats dont trust just anyone. You have been honored

Both my cats favor me because they know I am the one that fill their bowls and clean their litter box. But even more than that, I am here with them all day while my wife is at work so I think it would be natural that they favor me.

Maybe. Ling is like your cat. She only wants to sit in your lap for a few minutes at the most. Both DH and I take care of the cats (feeding). Its just her personality in not liking to be held unless she says so.

Seems she would rather lay on your lap or feet, but "do not touch me".
