This weekend I was able to meet up with the breeder I would like to get my show/alter male Singapura from. I may have him by the end of this year, if it all works out.
Cat shows have made me appreciate some of the other breeds alot more. So, Teri and I have selected a few that we want as pets, but at the same time want to show.

The Maine Coon was first on my list, followed by the Aby and then the Singapura.

We have the Maine Coon, Adilah is my breeder choice for an awesome Aby and now it looks as if we'll get our Singapura soon.

That will make 3 Singapura's on TCS if I'm not mistaken.

WOW! What brilliant news!
Lily and Tolly would be delighted to welcome another Singapura into the neighbourhood
I can't wait til the day you can bring your boy home!

Yes, that would be 3 Singapuras on TCS.

I have admired Lily and Tolly since the day I set eyes on them and that did inspire me to search them out at the shows. I have found this breed to be very affectionate, playful and unique in appearance.

Teri and I are so looking foward to having one of our own. We want to have a show cat (because that's what we do), but to be honest I would be just as happy with a nice boy(or girl) who was a loving pet that didn't want to be in the showhall.

I think both of your Singapuras are stunning, beautiful cats and I enjoy every post of yours with pictures of the two of them.

so happy for you. Can't wait to see it in the show hall. Your Maine Coon was stunning in person.

This will be a very interesting combo in your house. The Singa will be the smallest cat (about 4-5 lbs when grown). Probably not much bigger then one of your Bengal kittens
The Aby should fit in with the Bengals as far as activity.

You'll have to keep us updated on how everyone gets along. I'm with you Nial; if I'm getting a purebred cat, its for show purposes. If they retire early so be it, but I don't believe in just buying a purebred for a pet and not showing it at some point.

In fact, even the HHP's have been shown at least once. Some like it better then others. Ling never got thru all the rings in her first and last show

Isn't that the worst thing about shows
With Demetri retired, I set about getting a friend for him to stay home with on show days, now I've got 2 kittens on the way - both of which will be shown so I haven't solved my problem at all

Thank you so much - Lily and Tolly are glowing

Although I have never shown a cat, I quite fancied showing Lily, but never actually got around to doing so when she was little. She was show quality - in fact she was due to be the breeder's next Queen; however our breeder had a change of circumstances and retired. The day before she came home, I received some bad health news and the following couple of months were taken up with getting over that, so the showing never happened.

Tolly, on the other hand, is not show quality. Our breeder sold him to his first owner as a pet and by the time he was returned to the breeder prior to coming home to us, it seems he had also had his tail shut in a door at some point, so he has a little kink at the end of it now.

I am sure that your Singapura will show just the characteristics you have described. Tolly is such a soft boy - he is so loving but so roguish. Lily is the most intelligent cat I have ever known and is such a wonderful, loving companion. She absolutely ADORES people and loves to take a ride in the car. She often comes to pick me up from work

how exciting!!! I had never even heard of this breed before seeing Lily and Tolly and I must say they make an impression! Their fur is agouti like an Aby's, right?

If Singapuras are that small I can't wait to see how high they can fly

Congrat's on getting an Abby and a Singapura. They are BOTH my dream cats. I don't see me ever being lucky enough to get either one of them, but I can dream...

you all must meet us (Nial and I) at a cat show. It is much more fun meeting his cats in person.

you don't really know what you're missing

Would love to meet both Nial and Teri - IF they ever decide to show their Bengals in ACFA and come up to a show in Minnesota

first time I heard that :p

if so, why does everyone want to move south to retire

Nial needs to get his kitty quickly, so I can stop hijacking his threads.

We definitely don't see them often enough Beth! They're among my favorite TCS cats!

And now there will be a third!
