To a Tee.

The quotes by John F. Kennedy are timeless truths. If John McCain would have made any of them he would have been crucified. Sadly, President Kennedy wouldn't recognize his party today. It has become what he hated.

Huh. So what are you saying? On the one hand, does it work in reverse? If someone can make a living, then they have the qualities that would make them valuable in the service. So, since most of the country is making a living (for how long, who knows, but that's not the people's fault), we're all pretty cool. And that includes Obama. (Because I suspect you're using this -- as everything -- to take a jab at him.)

President Kennedy also said this at the University of Michigan on October 14, 1960:

"How many of you who are going to be doctors, are willing to spend your days in Ghana? Technicians or engineers, how many of you are willing to work in the Foreign Service and spend your lives traveling around the world? On your willingness to do that, not merely to serve one year or two years in the service, but on your willingness to contribute part of your life to this country, I think will depend the answer whether a free society can compete. I think it can! And I think Americans are willing to contribute. But the effort must be far greater than we have ever made in the past.

If President Kennedy had responded to the Cuban Missle Crisis the way Bush repsonded to Iraq, we might not be here today.

You suspect wrong.

That is also a really good quote Misty.

Then I owe you an apology.

And the second quote should not work against the McCain campaign, since Cindy McCain is a world-known worker against poverty in such places as Rwanda, which she actually visited during the genocide there when even UN troops weren't brave enough to stay.

Didn't mean it to. I commend Mrs. McCain for her work.

That is not true. She traveled after the genocide and was never actually in Rwanda. She was in Zaire and at the border but is after the genocide. There have been some exaggerations in her stories, such as Mother Theresa being present when she adopted Bridget.

ETA:The good work she has done is wonderful. There was no need to embellish. Her charity work is honorable regardless. I am not sold on the idea that she is the embellisher. I think it most likely the campaign people.

JFK was cool and all, and had some very persuasive and worthwhile words.

Too bad about the rampant cheating on Jackie, though.

Nobody's perfect.......
