It's hardly a secret that Barack Obama is Europe's favorite U.S. presidential candidate.

But a new poll shows that in France, just 1 percent of people think John McCain should win the White House.

Phew. Am I sure glad he didn't get THAT one.

I'll pass on France's endorsement, thanks. McCain might want the weakest link in the EU on his side, but I'll pass.

100% correct. WE DONT want to take into consideration what the rest of the world thinks when it comes to picking ARE POTUS

i am sorry but like the other thread on the subject, this thing or idea smacks of please someone love me, please like me. Low self-esteem look for approvel from others. Cant go though life trying to make other people or countries happy. We should take care of are home first, then think about if we can help someone else.

And besides that, isolation encourages terrorism, and where would our economy be if we weren't at war with the rest of the world? Just think of all the money that companies like Halburton are earning for their employees!

I happen to think an endorsement from France is a good thing because it means allies in the world. Seems in the end France was right to avoid the fiasco called Iraq. I never bought that jingoistic anti-France stuff anyway.

You always need allies and as many as possible.

France wasn't the only country either. I believe Germany and Russia also had a financial stake in Saddam Hussein's Iraq.

Germany did, I dont know about Russia.
But given russia attempts to being in opec, i would not doubt it.
