She is on steroids and antibiotics. She has been on steroids before but never gained weight before. I feel so bad for her. Poor Girl. Has anyone else had this happen to their cat?

Coco gained on steroids before but not that much.
Is she on pred?
What are the antibiotics and steroids for?
I know alot about Depo and Pred .
Coco has had that alot of times.
Steroids can cause alot of problems and side effects.

That's a huge amount of weight for a cat in such a short time.

Had she gotten very skinny to begin with or is she overweight now?

You may have to start really controlling her food. What's wrong with her? I.e why is she on the steroids and antibiotics?

It may not actually be 5 pounds. Maybe only 2 or 3. I haven't weighed her, but you can see and feel that she has gained weight and her skin is extending around her tummy. She is normally long, slender and lean. She does not eat much, but eats small portions throughout the day. I KNOW it is not from the food. It has to be the steroids because that is the only thing that was changed in a week.

She had a wound on her backside and was losing hair. This is the reason for the antibiotics and steroids. The steroids are prednisone. I am just NOT used to her being big and bloated.

I really feel for her. I hope she goes back down to her normal weight once she is off the steroids.

Awww poor Lexi.

I'm not a vet and I don't have experience dealing a cat with Lexi's problem so I can't really offer any advise.

How friendly are you with your vet? Could you phone them up and ask if her weight gain is normal or something you should be concerned about?
