Calif. mulls ads on road alert signs

Personally, I find this idea appalling and potentially dangerous. But in the comments on the news page, some seem to think it would be a good idea to help lower taxes. I think it would be a terrible idea because it would distract drivers and teach them to ignore road alerts. Also, just because the government gets its hands on a new revenue stream doesn't necessarily mean they're going to let go of or reduce others. I don't live in California, but I hope this gets squashed FAST so it doesn't gain a foothold there and spread around the country.
